Last weekend was Wonderwool Wales, the wool festival for which we made the poppies, so I finally saw them all in place. There were over 65,000; of which we had contributed about 1,500. I thought they looked wonderful, and they were the highlight of the weekend, also being featured in the local press and on BBC Wales
The poppies will be going on a tour before having a permanent home at the Gower Heritage centre in Wales. The tour locations haven’t yet been finalised, and may not be nationwide, but if they do come to the north west we’re hoping we will be able to go to see them.
So here’re my photos together with another big thank you to all those friends (and kind strangers!) who helped make such a beautiful and poignant tribute to those whose lives were lost in World War 1.
