Children and Young People

St Cuthbert’s, in partnership with St John’s employs a full time Children’s Worker, Alison Newsham, who works for both St Cuthbert’s Church and St John the Divine Church and enjoys strong links with our two local primary schools, Lytham CofE Primary School and Lytham Hall Park Primary School.   There are many activities for children from 0-16 years at all locations.

0 to 11 years

Mums and Toddlers Wednesday mornings 9.45am – 11.30am (term time only)

St Cuthbert’s Mothers Union organise this opportunity for children and parents or grandparents to meet. This is held in St Cuthbert’s Church Hall and for a small cost of £2  includes drinks, biscuits, toast and fruit for the children.  A range of activity is provided including a baby area, craft table, loads of toys for children to play with, music time and sometimes a puppet or two may appear!

Sunday Club and Creche at St Cuthbert’s (Term time only)

Sunday Club starts off in Church at 10.00am and then moves to the Church Hall after the first hymn. The children link with the church service through stories, songs, prayers, crafts and games. Things can get messy, glue, glitter etc so please NO Sunday best! When it’s time to share communion the children head back to Church to re-join the congregation.

Bible Craft After School Club.

This is held at Lytham Church of England Primary School  and children pupils in years 3-6 can take part in this activity. This is where we get “crafty” with the bible.

10 to 16 years

Youth Club  meets in the Church Hall, Friday evening 7pm-9pm (term time only) offering an opportunity for young people to meet and chat,  join in games.  There are theme nights, a tuck shop, craft evenings or an opportunity just to come and chill out…….Cost per young person £1

Step Up is for teenagers to engage in their own kind of worship and reflection.  We meet on 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month at St John’s 4pm-5pm.

 All Age Worship

2nd Friday each month at 5pm we have an informal service catering for all ages.  Our first service was a Pet Service on the 10th February – for pictures of some new members of the congregation visit our facebook page
