St Cuthbert’s is a fine early Victorian Church at the west end of Lytham. Yet the real truth is that St Cuthbert’s is a community of Christian people living, working and caring for Lytham and beyond. This ministry dates back at least 800 years. Our mission statement is:
To be an inviting church, growing in Jesus, and seeking to honour God through our worship, activities and buildings.
We endeavour to be a vibrant Christian community of faith. Seeking to support the Blackburn Diocesan Vision to make Disciples, be Witnesses and grow Leaders. We aim to build relationships through love, wisdom and strength by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Due to Coronavirus, sadly at present the church building is locked, but as the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have said: “Far from having to “shut up shop”, the Church of England must face the challenge by becoming a radically different kind of church rooted in prayer and serving others.”
So for now we are worshipping together each day through a live Facebook link and keeping in touch through phone calls and social media. Please do find us on Facebook ‘ St Cuthbert Lytham’ and we look forward being together in St Cuthbert’s church building soon.
